Johnston, Rhode Island

Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, more commonly referred to as Rhode Island, is a state in the New England region of the United States. Although it is one of the smallest states in the United States, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations across America. Apart from bordering Connecticut to the west and Massachusetts to the north and east, Rhode Island also shares a water border with New York to the southwest.

Johnston is a town in Providence county of Rhode Island. The area carries an Italian flavor to it. Incorporated on March 6, 1759, Johnston was named for the colonial attorney general, August Johnston.  Johnston is the site of the Clemence Irons House, which is a stone ender museum and the only landfill in Rhode Island.

The community includes a wide variety of individuals coming from various religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. A very prominent feature of this place is in the form of the Johnston War Memorial park, located at Hartford Avenue. The place is also home to another place of historical importance, i.e. the Dame farm. This is a farm, which dates back to colonial times.
